How To Classify The Particle Board?

(1) Classification by use

 

Ordinary particleboard: it is used in the environment with no obvious change of air humidity and components without high requirement of surface decoration.

 

Particleboard can be used as surface decoration substrate: Particleboard with three-layer structure or gradual change structure with fine particle as surface layer has low surface roughness and high peeling strength, which is suitable for surface decoration processing.

 

Building particleboard: this kind of particleboard includes structural particleboard, building particleboard produced by extrusion method, light building particleboard and particleboard treated with anti-corrosion treatment or flame retardant treatment. Structural particleboards are mostly oriented particleboards made of large flakes or ordinary particleboards made of weather resistant resin adhesive; particleboards for extrusion buildings have good sound insulation performance because the center of particleboards is hollow tubular; particleboards for light buildings, with a general density of 250-500kgm3, have high sound absorption capacity, and can be used for theater and auditorium decoration.

 

(2) Classification by raw materials

 

Wood particleboard: Particleboard Made of wood branches, veneers and cut ends.

 

Bagasse particleboard: Particleboard Made of bagasse from the sugar industry.

 

Flax shaving particleboard: Particleboard Made from the residue of flax production process.

 

Bamboo particleboard: Particleboard Made of mixed bamboo, bamboo branches and bamboo products processing residues.

 

Cotton Stalk Particleboard: Particleboard Made of annual cotton stalk.

 

Cement particleboard: wood, cement as the main raw materials, adding water and a small amount of chemical additives mixing, stirring, forming, pressurized particleboard, mainly used in construction.

 

(3) Classification by structure

 

Single layer structure particleboard: also known as homogeneous particleboard. The shape, amount of glue and density of particleboard are the same. When the particleboard is oriented, it is called single layer oriented structural board. The plate has high strength along the grain direction and can be used as structural material.

 

Three layer structure particleboard: the surface and interior layers of the board are obvious, and the upper and lower surfaces are composed of the same type of particleboard with thinner thickness than the core layer and more glue, and its physical and mechanical properties are better than that of single-layer structural board. ,

 

Graded structure particleboard: the surface and interior layers of the board are not obvious, and the upper and lower surfaces are thin small particleboard. From the surface to the inside, the geometric size of the particleboard gradually increases and thickens, and the density also changes from large to small. It is also called density graded particleboard.

 

Hollow structure particleboard: the tubular hollow board produced by extrusion method has sound insulation and heat insulation performance and low strength.

 

Oriented particleboard: the particleboard is about 50 mm in length, 12.5 mm in width and 0.2-0.8 mm in thickness. Phenolic glue is often used as adhesive, and is arranged in orientation when paving. The strength of the plate along the grain direction is large, so it can be used as a structural material in construction.

 

Waffle particleboard the length of particleboard is 60-90mm, the width is 20-90mm, and the thickness is 0.4-1.2mm. Phenolic adhesive is widely used as adhesive. It has good water resistance and is generally used in construction.

 

(4) Classification by surface condition

 

Fire rated particle board material: refers to the particleboard which is not finished, sanded or not sanded.

 

Paper decorative board veneer particleboard: a variety of special paper, after modification

High temperature and high pressure made of laminated plastic board and particleboard substrate glue together to form a decorative board veneered particleboard. Because it can be imitated into a variety of patterns, bright and beautiful color, high hardness, wear resistance, heat resistance and chemical resistance, it is mostly used for interior decoration of furniture, vehicles, ships and aircraft.

 

Impregnated paper overlaid particleboard: a kind of decorative particleboard overlaid with modified melamine resin impregnated paper, adopting hot thermal pressing process, is mainly used for furniture and interior decoration.

 

Particleboard grading

 

In gbt4897-92 national standard, the particleboard is divided into class A and class B according to their use.

 

Class a particleboard is divided into excellent products, first-class products, second-class products and third-class products.

 

Class B particleboard has only one grade.

 

Dimension and allowable deviation

 

(1) Thickness

 

The nominal thickness of all kinds of fire rated particle board is 9,  12, 15, 16, 15,  25, 33mm, 44mm,54mm,64mmetc.

 

(2) Format

According to the requirements of national standards, the non straightness of particleboard edge should not exceed 11000 (mmmm).

 

(2) Appearance standard of Particleboard

 

The appearance of particleboard should be uniform in thickness and free from defects such as cracking and bubbling.

 

(3) Physical and mechanical properties

 

The physical and mechanical properties of particleboard include density, water property, thermal conductivity, sound insulation, static bending strength and internal bonding strength.
